Why The Future Party?

Kenya's political landscape is a complex mix of hope, resilience, and ongoing challenges. Over the years, the country has made significant strides in democratic governance, including the devolution of power through the 2010 Constitution and relatively peaceful transitions of leadership. However, systemic issues continue to undermine this progress, leaving the aspirations of millions unfulfilled.

Ethnic polarization still heavily influences Kenya's politics, where political allegiances are often determined by tribal affiliations rather than ideological beliefs. This has fostered a culture of exclusion and competition, breeding mistrust among communities and hindering efforts toward unity and inclusivity. Corruption remains a persistent issue, diverting public resources intended for development and perpetuating inequalities that prevent many Kenyans from accessing essential services such as education, healthcare, and housing.

Youth, women, and marginalized groups—who represent the majority of the population—remain underrepresented in leadership and decision-making roles. Despite constitutional provisions aimed at ensuring inclusivity, the "two-thirds gender rule" has yet to be fully implemented, and political structures continue to favor entrenched elites over emerging leaders. These challenges, combined with limited accountability and opaque governance practices, have left many Kenyans disillusioned with traditional political parties and processes.

The Future Party (TFP) embodies progressive politics aimed at transforming Kenya's governance and ensuring a brighter tomorrow for all citizens. The name reflects our commitment to moving away from traditional political practices and focusing on long-term solutions that prioritize service delivery, community empowerment, and good governance.

Our symbol, the lotus flower, signifies our dedication to overcoming challenges, maintaining transparency, and inspiring hope for a unified and prosperous Kenya.

At TFP, we believe in empowering communities, expanding democratic space, and creating systems that work for everyone. We are building the future Kenya deserves.
